FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
What time are the services?
WE HAVE RESUMED IN-PERSON SERVICES IN OUR BUILDING ON NORA BERNARD STREET. Our Sunday worship begins at 10:45am. We gather again on Tuesdays at 11:30am for a lunchtime Bible Study with Pastor Britton and on Wednesdays at 6:30 PM for a midweek boost.
How long is the service?
Service times vary, but generally lasts an hour to an hour and a half.
What kind of service is it?
A joyous one! We like lots of singing, so music is a big part of our worship. We blend traditional hymns and contemporary worship songs. The preaching is vibrant and relevant. If you like laughter and music, with solid, biblical preaching, this is the place for you.
What do I wear?
We want you to be comfortable, respecting that it is worship. Our focus is an authentic worship of God. Just be yourself!
Is there anything for my children to do?
Yes! Sunday school is 10:20-11:30 AM on Sunday morning for children of all ages. The Sunday school will resume in-person on February 19, 2023. There is no Nursery at this time.
We also have a wonderful Children’s Choir that sings throughout the school year. If you want your child to join, just contact the director, Mrs. Sherri Borden Colley at sbordencolley@gmail.com.
Our Youth Group connects and announces its meetings on Facebook: NewHorizons Youth. Like us! https://www.facebook.com/New-Horizons-Youth-197015843686179/
What am I expected to give?
Giving is a part of our worship. We welcome all gifts, but our visitors are not required to support the church financially. That is the responsibility of our members and regular attendees.
Is the church accessible to wheelchairs?
Yes, our newly renovated space is completely accessible. Those who are mobility-challenged can take the lift directly from Nora Bernard Street to the sanctuary level. There is also parking at the rear of the building with access to an elevator. There is a doorbell at that rear door. Please wait to be admitted. There is an accessible washroom on the sanctuary level, just opposite the lift.
Where can I park?
There is limited “HANDICAP” parking in the small lot next to the Maitland Street corner of the church. An accessible entrance is also located there. Other parking is on any of the surrounding streets. Our neighbors generously allow us to freely use the parkade located across the Nora Bernard Street side for our weekend gatherings. You will need to collect a parking pass from the ushers to display in your car window.
