Our church continues to flourish under the leadership of our pastor, Dr. Rhonda Britton. Pastor Rhonda has been with us since 2007 and we believe God has brought her to serve in this part of the world for “such a time as this”!
She is a native of Florida, having moved north to New York/New Jersey for a number of years before answering the call to Nova Scotia. Our community is facing many challenges. We believe that she has come to us at God’s appointed time to help Cornwallis Street Baptist offer new hope to those who may not yet know the fullness of God’s love and his abundant grace. Her desire is that all would grab hold of God’s promises of liberation, abiding peace, and the power to overcome life’s challenges. Pastor Rhonda labors so that the hungry will be fed, the thirsty will receive the living water of Christ’s mercy, the naked will be clothed, drug and alcohol addictions will be broken, domestic and street violence will be stopped and we will thrive as a healthy, vibrant community.
Pastor Rhonda has a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Baruch College, a Master of Communication and information Studies degree from Rutgers University, a Master of Divinity degree from Princeton Theological Seminary, and a Doctor of Ministry degree from Acadia University. She was ordained in 2002 at St. Philip’s Baptist Church, Staten Island, NY.
Pastor Rhonda is the first female pastor of Cornwallis Street in its 180-year history. She shares her belief in Philippians 4:13 which says we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us!
